Hi i finished my dunerunner and i have a few questions. The servos flicker back and forth when im applying throttle and even when im not what could cause this. Also i need to find a tank filter where can i get one.

Any lawn mower or small engine repair shop or home depot in weed wacker dept. Should have that filter.no need to order.

Make sure that the batteries are fully charged. Check connections make sure that all plugs are plug in correct and no wires have been broken. Rebind the radio to the receiver. Also do a receiver check plug the servo into another channel and see if its doing the same thing.

I have just developed this problem myself and I just noticed this starting to happen when I swapped out the stock roll cage with the hopup aluminum cage. When the engine is not running my throttle servo HiTech 645 is solid as a rock it doesn’t twitch at all. But as soon as I start the engine it will twitch while it is just idling and when I accelerate it will twitch and cause the engine to cut in and out even when I have it opened all the way. I’ve read somewhere in one of these threads that a spark plug that is going bad can cause erratic servo control but I was hoping for validation on that matter. All of my connections are solid and everything is charged up so…could it be a bad spark plug or could the aluminum roll cage somehow amplify the spark plug electrical field enough to cause some kind of signal interference?

Thanks Deluge I've heard that before, but my spark plug isn't that old so I just didn't think it would be bad. I'm going to get a new one and throw it in there and I'll report back on the result.

^ check your batt on the remote and receiver pack mine was doing the same till i charged it more and swapped the batteries on the remote knock on wood so far

Thought I'd update everyone. I swapped out the spark plug and that fixed my problem. No more twitching! Weird thing was that the old spark plug didn't look bad at all...oh well it's a cheap fix.

My problem not fixed

Stock redcat throttle servo, stock HPI servo, stock Kyosho, and my new Spectrum servo all twitch and jump. Neither stock spark plug or the NGK fix the issue.

Full 2500 battery, aluminum roll cage (i think this is when it started, need to test), stock receiver (second one, servos may not have twitched with the first receiver, can't remember).

Do they glitch when the engine is on or off? If it started when you added the aluminum roll cage, check for loose screws. Loose screws can vibrate and cause interference.

The servo glitches when the engine is off and on. I took off the aluminum roll cage and it still twitches.

glitching

I had the same problem last sunday. checked everything, eventually removed the throttle servo, disassembled - the hot - red wire was broken at the printed circut board connection, and there was a cold solder joint on a capacitor lead.- This intermittent contact-short was causing both servos to twitch- and the kill switch to kick in and out. - Re soldered -assenbled the servo- problem solved. yes, the on-off switch on the car is a good place to start looking- the 4wd is constantly showering this area with every thing the car rolls over.- You can get CRC electronic cleaner at Wal-Mart for about 5 bucks. -- good to have this around for cleaning- harmless to plastic on the cars- its Methanol- or however you spell it.
