My (analog) steering servo is "growling". The noise is not loud and occurs only when both the radio and the receiver are turned on and steering is at idle. The stock XRC p.o.s-servo growled and twitched, so I changed it to Futaba; no twitching, but the growling remains. Strange thing is that even if the servo is silent on start up (most of the time it is), as soon as I move the steering wheel and release it,the growling starts.

Could this damage the servo?

The throttle servo (also a Futaba High Torgue) stays silent on idle.

it's just trying to center itself. you could try increasing the deadband in the radio but there will always be a little pull one way or the other

yeah it s prretty much normal as they are very sensitive as above its just truing to centre it self my 5b does it... although the 4wd baja i have dosen,t do it ...

Thanks to everyone for easing my mind, and saving me from trouble of pulling everything apart (again) :)
