Anyone have any idea why a servo just quits working. Iam using a spektrum sr 300 recver and a futaba analog s 3306 servo.Running the xb on the 3rd tank the steering servo just quit working. I first thought the battery may have drained, but I put in my hitech 5745 servo and it worked fine. The original steering servo did the same thing quit working in the first 10 minutes. I did not see any smoke, nor any smell of burnt material. I`m stumped guy`s.

Sounds basic but.....

When I first got my XBE I found the whole steering mechanism too be very tight. I chased down the problem but I am sure that if I ran it as it came out of the box the servo would not last 10 minuets. The servo has enough work to do with pushing around tight linkage.

Try moving your steering with the servo disconnected. It should move freely just pushing it with your finger. My problem was with the linkage from the servo to the steering so make sure you include that in you test.

I am STIIL running the stock RC system with no problems.

I have a theory why the XBe steering servos are doing so well. It revolves around the BEC output of the ESC, its a constant 5.75volts. With a hump pack voltage can be as high as 7+volts and possibly cause a premature failure. I just wonder if I'm right.

Still running stock, and I always check everything before I run and my steering wasn't tighter than what I like.
