I was trying to remove one of the set screws from the square collar that's attached to the pinion of the center diff and I stripped it. I can't even get a 3mm wrench in there. Not sure how I can rEmove this collar to remove the gear plate? I need to get the set screw out somehow. Any ideas? Thanks.

Drill a small hole in the set screw and try useing an easy out. Also try a torque driver to grab the set screw.Use a hair dryer to loosen the locktite.

Thanks Cordy I'll try that. Totally forgot about the easy out I just bought and used before. Thats why this forum is so great.

Heat the set screw with a soldering iron to break the Loctite, then use a Torx to back it out. I've saved my chassis a few times with this method.

Use a soldering iron. That's a Brilliant idea for heating up a screw.

Oh man! Those star bits saved the day for me too. I just hammer and wollup them into the stripped bit and that usually works for me. Stripped hardware is the worst....it's so small but it sets you back hours upon hours. Glad you got'er out :)
