Here is two views of a way I could fab a ABCD gear cover. As some of you Eagle eye readers may have seen the prototype back plate already punched in the background of some of my other pics in posts.

This would be made out of .050 " or .063" aluminum cnc puncehed and welded together. To keep cost down. A solid billet one machined out will be well over $200 I am figuring by what machine shops get. I could do the fab look welded aluminum more cost effecient. I will try to get the Solidworks to add the welded corner features, bear with me I am a new Solidworks user and often have a glitch in the program most often found between the mouse and the chair.

wow, thats gona look good. the aluminum gear cover isnt just for look guys. (though it helps) it will help move some of the heat around and prevent or reduce melting gears. how soon can we expect this? are you going to have them powder coated? or a chrome finish?

I will be punching the last pieces in steel tomorrow ( I cnc punch the steel first try it before throw the High dollar aluminum on the FinnPower SG ) If it works out then punch in aluminum tuesday so next week. Notice the two extra holes to add a beefier rear gap area plate. Could easily go dry cover and go wet lubed.

I can powdercoat these in house or polish them either way. I won't be able to chrome though or anodize at this point. Possible anodize if sales will facilitate.

I have a protoype in aluminum welded , I am working on a holder (jig) to help with the fit and finish in the welding process so it will look the same from part to part. After that is done I will have them in prduction, I may talk with anodizing co and check on that option.
