OK, looks like you gusy that got them in the last few days will not have to change the c-clips. Sounds like the factory fixed the problem already by using a flat washer on a shelf, instead of the c-clip and groove. MoFroggy and Sprint77 will take a picture today and upload them.
I have the pics on a memory card at the shop and did not bring them home. Sorry guys it will be tomorrow. I do conferm the shock "C" clip issue has been corrected on the ones sent out this week.
I can confirm that also. The C clips have been replaced by a washer that is probably more stable than a C clip. The piston has been modified so that the washer is recessed up into the piston and cannot be displaced like a C clip could, the washer is now locked in place by a nut on top of the piston.
Since I have been in plastic injection molding for over 30 years I can tell you that this was not just a "spur of the moment" decision. Someone (probably Rob!) gave them input and they reacted to it. Considering the normal time it takes to make an injection mold I would say this mod took a LOT shorter time to get done than any other mold I have ever dealt with. This reaction time to suggestions bodes well for any other things that need changing on the Rampage line.
The info I had received was that they were already working on the fix when I informed them about it the first time. The factory told me that our next shipment which is due in next week would have the change, but it seems like they already had it fixed which is great news. I will tear apart a few shocks this week and also find out from the factory directly but from what we have heard it looks like they replaced it with a washer. Here are pics from the factory with the change.Darin
