I have a broken rear shock cap on my baja. will the hpi cap work on the KM shocks? I also need to replace the cage can I use the HPI for that also?

Yes and yes, When I broke my shock cap I realized that it was from over-extending my shock and it broke out of the bolt. I put limiting straps on the suspension to keep it from happening again,then replaced my caps with HPI.
