Shock Covers

I suppose it depends where you're running.
If you're running in a sandy, gritty, muddy area, then you need to protect the shocks from the build-up of grit on the shafts, that will damage the o-ring seals.
If the area's relatively clean, I prefer to leave the shocks open.

shock covers are great, i made my own some 5 years back using Neoprene (wetsuit material)... still got the same ones on now & ive only needed to clean my shocks about 3 times in 5years!.. but gunna make some more soon... cuz ones i have atm are black... now i want some red ones! \o/
 
Can't remember who it was (Jackobyte?) but 1.75" diameter cycle inner tube fits a treat.

Aye, you can use Bike Inner tubes or try this too, i've just got 2 sets.

I sent him an email asking his best price + postage and i got 3 different colours for $38usd (worked out at £9 per set posted).
you can see them on "My New Themes" thread on the site, you get plenty left over.
