Shock Oil guidence

Can anyone roughly explain the basic principle of the losi shock oil and what surfaces you would use the different weights etc?

It used to control the springs so your not trying to drive a pogo stick
The lighter oil the suspension moves up and down father and faster
This is good for very rough tracks that are not to fast
The faster you go you need heavier oil to control the spring
Or the bigger the jump you hit
It's just a balancing act for how you drive you car truck
