short antenna

i finally got the time to go to work on my new tt5 v3. tighting screws here,locktight there,set the failsafe(doesn't shut the buggy off but does lock on the brakes) get to the reciever box and the wire for the antenna is about 8 inches long..It' reaches about halfway up the antenna tubinig;It just barly clears the body thru the tubing.Anyboby else have this problem.every r/c i ever had the antenna runs all the way thru the tubing and there's extra that you wrap around the outside of it.I know that the shorter the antenna the less range...does having the 2.4 ghz radio the reason why the wire is so short..

Yes, the 2.4 antenna is short. Should be around 5 inches or so.

mine is that way too on my v2.8

thanks for the answers..I'm okay then.just never seen them that short.I never realized how big my rampage mt was till i put it next to the buggy .the tires are almost twice as large..
