Hi

i just thought i would raise a point about after market pipes.
i purchased a ddm fd130 and the throttel rod runs by it.
I ran my fg a few days peivious to the purchase of the pipe and evrything worked fine. I fitted my pipe and evrything was working a few runs went by evrything ok i cam to swithc the servos on one day and the ran wild left right throttel off and on. we took it to our model shop and by a fluke i pushed the throttel rod against the pipe and evrything stopped we found out the throttel rod touched the pipe in a way that it shorted it out so a new throttel servo later and some black tape around the mouting bracket and it worked.
When we came to open up the servo it was all fried and still had a burning smell to it lol aaaaaaaaaaa burnt servo:clown::clown::clown::clown:

I was going to ask has eneyone else experienced this matter with there trucks?

Thanks

No, what type of radio system are you using? What kind of servo was it?

The only way the metal on metal caused the servo to fry would be that the interference caused it to wig out big time. Interference can happen to some less quality radios when metal rubs metal.
Dang that sucks. At least it didn't WOT on you.

I'd buy the "wig out" thing, I have a 130 coming this week, good to know, I'll have to check to make sure there isn't any clearance issues.

A little off topic, but:
How did you like the performance of the pipe and what did you have before?

HI

I am using HI-TECH servos not kidding thats the name lol and the proformance was a major diffrence plus i was running standard fuel in it i put a high octane fuel in it and it runs like hell lol.

And the sound it amazing i think where is the dirt bike lol.
I just put a pice of electritions tape around the mouting braket had not probs so far. :cup-3:

You could have also put heat shrink on the throttle rod or even some nitro fuel tubing.

Hitec make sgreat servoes. i have use their servosfor nearly 9 years and have onle hade 3 og 4 servos that i hav had problems with. i hva ha dabout 50 different types an models of Rc Cars in this 9 years and the Hitec servoes have worked well in all of them

i don't think that the throtelk rod touching the pipes mounting bracket have anything to do with the fact that your servo is burnt.
i am 1005 sure that the reason that the servo is burnt is that yuo don't hav adjustet EPA on you radio,
if you don't adjust the servoes end points they will brunr out. a servo that don't hit its endpoint will de struggelign to get there, and that will sooner og later (most likely SOONER) burn you servoes.

so don't laugh at the Hitec servoes they work great when the user uses them right.

the manual that folows the car in the package is´nt juts for IDIOTS.
the contain usefull information to the user and sholud be read

I agree that servo adjustment could have been the culprit but it sounds vampire and his LHS found it was shorting out...at least it's fixed now.
I must say that I haven't seen a manual yet that comes with a car that explains epa, sub trim, expo etc, fg came with a cd-rom which to a newbie would be as useful as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.
The instructions with your transmitter should help but if you buy something used then often you get nothing and have to search online.

Hi

Well i was told the servos where set up by fg and by the model shop i have nothing against hi-tech i know there good all my mates use them i think one of my mates has one in his chopper.

Also i recived no dvd and manual only a few things like : the your servos have been set up by fg and stuff a diagram of the parts for the truck and engine and a dear rtr customer about the truck and thats it m8.

I recived the transmitter with hardley eney info in it only a servo saver and some stickers and something else think it was just a diagram of the pad and parts plus i recived a littel bit of rubber to fit on the trigger to ajust your finger.

Plus the only reson i thought it might be the pipe is that evrytime i touched the throttel rod against the pipe it stopped going wild.

And i purchased this truck brand new from my local model shop.

And we thought about some traxxas fuel tubing over the throttel rod but we just put some black tape around it and it works perfect now.

VAMPY.

Metal o metal contakt can make glitches that makes th radio do strange things. såecialy if you use a AM or FM radio system.
the first up grade to do on an RTR FG is to switch to a Spektrum radio or a Computer radio that can accep a Spektrum Module
