Hi Eddie, I know where you're coming from:

1. Don't fire it up!!
2. Use 50:1 mix - soon be quiet, after a little KABOOM, perhaps!!
3. Take a look here : http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl?c=885035&sc=12&category=&search=dominator
4. Don't know what you're running - FG or HPI/Clone?
5. I changed from Dominator to FG tuned pipe on my FG MT for the same reason.

what difference does using 50:1 instead of 25:1 make??

Don't go there !!!!!!!!!!!! :lol::w00t::mad::rolleyes:;):D:o:)

If you must, use the Search and you'll see the morbid developments you missed.

In truth, IF you set the Carb properly, it might run sharper for a while, but all metal-on-metal requires lubrication of some form, and this is leaning it quite a lot - remember our 'hobby engines' run faster and probably hotter than chainsaws, etc.

since my engine is running well at the mo im not changing anything (don't mess around with it if its not broken ;) )

just ignore anyone that says anything about 50:1 oil mix, its turned into a complete joke here on the forum. any 50:1 comments are meant as jokes. don't run 50:1.

doms are loud & thats it dude, if u tried to silence it you will nerf the power :( ..in which case you may as well sell the dom & as atom said.. get an FG tuned pipe.

I did exactly same thing, i had a dom, switched to the steel power FG tuned pipe not long ago & tbh i prefer the FG tuned pipe, quieter, better mounting & has decent all round power & cant really notice the difference in terms of power compared to the dom. The one thing i didnt like about the dom (i had the torque version) was the power kicked in like a power band.. ie: 1 sec my beetle is nipping around smoothly, as soon i hit certain revs my beetle acted like it was on acid! ..which was a nightmare when doing jumps etc!... but with the FG pipe power is smooth all way through, love it :)

you see, with the dom i flick the rear around a corner when the revs are in the power range, floor the throttle and it goes as u said like its on acid :cool:
