I have a slight crack on my CPI pipe right at the bracket that mounts to the motor shroud. I cant see the crack/hole but i do get oil comming out of the crack, not alot but enough to notice. Would this crack effect my tune? because at max RPM sometimes the rpm's will completly fall off for a split second and then come right back again does not do this all the time it is very speratic and only at max rpm. The carb is an Walbro 813 and it on a Mt Rampage.

If it is small as you describe I would say it wouldn't effect your tune.
Hmmm then what could be the cause for my rpms cutting off for a split second at max rpm randomly? It's almost like for a split second it does not get fuel.

Your spark plug could be causing interference, which would cause the failsafe to kick on for a split second. Cheapest solution would be to try a new plug.

You could be running a bit lean on the high speed needle, as well.

I thought it might be a little lean also so I set the hsn back to factory 1 1/2 out but same result. I have been running the same plug for awhile so I swap it out and try that thanks

Was thinking about getting the CPI pipe... Do they offer a warranty for the crack? Or are you stuck with it now?

Is it a solid pipe, or do you just bash really hard? :o

Doesent a crack in the pipe affect back pressure? Put some jb weld on the crack and see if the problem is less or goes away. My stock pipe for my xb cracked and did strange things.

Trickle just take off the pipe and let me weld it for you.that way we eliminate that possible cause.get it to me by Thursday night and you will have it for the weekend...Ildy.

now to figure out how to get it to you

Figured it out!

Well I figured it out, Even with my gas cap mod my tank was still not venting properly. I removed the two rubber inserts in the cap and Wa-La the truck was screaming again. I guess my next question is should I continue to run it with out the 2 rubber inserts or just make the holes bigger in the inserts?

If you have a line coming out of the cap you are ok. You might want to use an o-ring so the cap can seal to the tank. You could get fuel leaking from under the cap.

ya I was getting fuel leaking from under the cap, I will go pick up some O rings to seal the cap. thanks

I gutted my gas cap when I vented it. I used the bulb insert as a seal, just cut the bulb portion off.

Here's a pic. The one on the left is from a Baja gas cap, but you get the idea. Just lop off the bulb. Save you the hassle of hunting for an o-ring.
