Slipper clutch Question

If you install a slipper clutch. What happens to the current Clutch. Is it still needed

Or am I missing the the ball.

It is on HPI 5B

slipper clutch replacess the direct drive gears, witha limited slip gear.
does not replace the drive clutch off of the engine, so nothing happens to the engine clutch
