Slipper for the Baja

It might work if you have it screwed up quite tight, unlike the slippers I used to use in 1/10th scale offroad electric, where the idea was to remove all wheelspin. Trying that with a Baja is going to result in a smokescreen and a fried clutch almost instantly!

Thought of that Tony,but HPI must have done their homework first.

Of course, if I were cynical and worked for HPI, I would love to bring in a slipper clutch which isn't compatible for two speed gearboxes......:2guns:
 
i understand HPI spent about a year or a bit more working on this unit. being for the 1/5th scale, it HAS to handle alot of weight without burnign the slipper material in 2 minutes or less. from all my understanding, it was quite a feat to produce.

looks good, and should be a great item for racing off the lines.

Looks allot like how a racing clutch operates...looks pretty beefy, I think it might just hold up if the temps can be kept in check and looks like they have allot of material in there to dissipate heat as well...Looks good to me.

yeah I was thinking the same thing when I saw the pic....looks like a mini version of a old MX engine clutch.
