Hi guys,
I have a few questions of where to start under B.R.C.A rules.
I had a look on the B.R.C.A rules section and really confused by some of the rules currently under 2012 .
My car is very, very old. I have touched it in almost 10 years so compared to today's current 1/5th scale cars on the market.
The car was purchased as a ECO Line model so rwd and basic.
I have however upgraded a few bits on it for example
Foam bumper for B.R.C.A rules
Front brakes (cable)
K&N air filter
Bodyshell has side window cut out and clearly marked with the "E" for emergency access etc.
Now, I have a choice of x3 bodyshells to use x2 Porsche 993 GT2 & Porsche 996 GT3 RS.
Its unclear to me what class I would run under using these shells would it be GYS or Open?
Also, on the GT2 shells I have cut out x2 holes on the rear spoiler where the original ( Real) GT2 had It's intakes for turbo/induction and used some pipework using a t-piece and diverting air on to the air filter housed on the top of the carb.
Would this be ok under the rules?
I was thinking of making a rear diffuser out of plastic for looks and hopefully for some improved rear downforce (if any) but would this be a no go due to Marshall safety if the car gets airborne etc?
I have a failsafe unit bit may upgrade to something more modern.
Along with that I need to budget for some new springs maybe damper sets any suggestions?
Now, radio gear. Mine is very basic. But work's fine. Do I need to upgrade this and how many crystal sets would I need? Think I'm on a 40 wave? I preferstick controls over the wheel equivalent.
Lastly, where are the 1/5th tracks these days? I went to crystal palace a cpuple of times to practice but not sure that's there anymore? A lot of flat car parks I once used to practice locally have gone now so there is no where big enough for me to use the large scale car. I'm close to Heathrow airport in terms of location.
I have a few questions regarding my lotus Schumacher big 6's aswell bit will ask again once I've picked your brains on the above. LOL
Regards
Steve
