A few weeks ago, I finally realised:
1. I NEVER used the 1/5 on road other than a sort of 'guilt trip' when I took it out, fired it up and simply did a few donuts, blasted it up and down, then put it away again. Don't get me wrong - it looked brilliant either as the F360 or the McLaren F1 GTR.
2. I also came across this YT site which I found pretty spectacular:
Very informative.
3. SO I SOLD ALL 1/5 main parts - a loss was involved as normal but they went for a reasonable price I reckon.
4. This was purchased: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/58549-TAM...sGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item58a7e61cf4
Not that particular one - mine cost £300 with postage from Germany - no extra taxes as would be the case from Hong Kong.
5. MANY, MANY more parts have been purchased, including the TXT-1 tyres on RC4WD beadlock wheels - they're the new type using M3 bolts, 12 each side, or 96 for a set of 4 wheels!!
6. I'm still planning on trying for 4WS, but can also lock out the RWS if necessary - the plan will be to have the rears on the Auxiliary, independently of the main steering, just as a 'boost' as the real MT's do.
With nearly all parts arrived, I'm in Peru for a couple of weeks, during which time the body will be painted Bigfoot (BF) 18 blue. BF19 exists and is orange, but I like the blue one. That's also the one in the world record leap!!
I'll keep this thread updated once the build gets moving.
