Nice catch there. I'm a salt water guy so I'm not familier with alot of freshwater game fish. Are Stripers in the trout family? We used to catch Speckled Trout about that size and pull over to the closest island and cook 1 or 2 of those suckers up for lunch.

Here in the desert all the lakes are manmade reservoirs. We have one of the biggest lakes that is supplied with the Colorado river. This project is called the Central Arizona Project. Before that most of the lakes down here just had Largemouth, White bass, and the smaller sun type fish. When they introduced the Colorado water the Striped bass were introduced to Lake Pleasant. So no trout just bass in the lower desert. Only 2 hours away there is plenty of lakes with trout. We can go from elevation of 1200 feet to 7000 feet in about and hour and a half or be deep sea fishing in around four hours. So pretty nice location. I just wish it wasn’t so Dam hot right now.
