So based off of the posts so far, I should be looking to have driveshaft parts on hand just in case, correct? I don't want to be down much to have the naysayers starting some crap. I tend to back my $hit up on the field

Let me know!

I am gonna say this
once, V1 users should not be guinea pigs...R&D is supposed to be completed before the public release, not after...

TIA!

I would say you'll be ok having front and back wheel axles and replacing the servos out of the box..... for all the rest is no different than any other 1/5 RC.

oooo make sure all srews are tight properly and with thred lock when they go agains metal parts.

V1 users are not guinea pics. The vehicle is new to market and we received our first samples of the XT and XB about 6 months ago. We have made numerous changes based on things that we found. We went through numerous samples and rigorous testing before the launch. Of course no matter how much we test, we will hear of things when the masses get the vehicles. Right now about 500 new XT, XB & XB-E's have been shipped and so far we have of course heard of a few issues which is expected when hundreds of people start using a brand new vehicle in numerous environments. We will take all feedback and report it to the factory to make them better in future shipments.

I have heard horror stories of the first shipments of the HPI Baja vehicles and the number of things that had to be done to make them more reliable. I don't think any new vehicle that exists today is perfect when they are first launched.

Thanks Darin and Rob...I appreciate the responses. I only brought the issue up because of my past experiences with certain vehicles. I am not accusing Redcat of not doing their job. In fact, this is an issue that all RC vendors should be aware of and that the perception of one model's issues can extend to any product following. Buyers here in NA are getting more picky (as they should) and keeping your brand highly regarded is crucial. With all that being said, I am happy with my Redcats and will continue to support the scene. :)

I was also able to assist in the R&D and if you seen some of the videos, that's just part of how hard I drove it. You have drivers and you have bashers. Bashers should know they're already going to spend alot of money on parts because of they're driving styles. Not fair to blame the R/C companies.

Well, IMO, the whole Baja format got folks confused because folks could bash it and race it on the track...if you look at other lines, there is a distinct separation between bashers, racers(track cars) and on-road in their offerings...I wouldn't take a gasser that weighs the same as an 1/8th to a bashers rally...it just doesn't make sense. If I ran my MT's into the XB, I would expect carnage on the buggy...did you see my pic of it beside the Hurrax Zynit? These RC companies know where to make the money and sometimes it ain't about the initial sale...
