Hand tight and then an extra 1/4 turn. If you have a torque wrench, torque it to 10 ft-lbs. It's a good idea to use anti-seize on the plug threads, as well.

For NGK plugs, and most other plugs;

Brand new: finger tight, then 1/2 turn.

Used: finger tight, then 1/4 turn.

These plugs have crush washers that need to be crushed when there brand new.
