ive got 18/48t gearing on my marder i strapped my gps device to my car and recorded 20mph :( was a lil disappointed im thinking of changing the gearing to 20/44t will that make much of a diffrence or will i have to mess with the diff gearing cuz if i do will be a lil lost as very new to this :D

check the gearing again mate. should be either 16 / 48 or 18 / 46. If its 18/48 it wont be meshing properly so will cause you problems anyway (unless they are non standard gears??). 20/44 will give you a decent top end without compromising too much mid range.

+1 with what Dwarfy said, my baja runs 18/46 and seems to pull really well ( when I actually get time out with it ) before you say it andy :lol:

;) If it ain't broke, bash it till it is ;)

Sry mate was a typo i ment 16/48t lol never checked :o

Running mine with 20/44..26cc with a tuned FG pipe...goes like a scalded cat...

great acceleration and a pretty good top end... runnin 16/48 on the diff end too..

seems to be a good all round balance

i cant belive it only hit 20 mph are you sure the gps is correct as thats poor even with stock gears you should be hit over double that,,,and im with dwarfy im sure they run 14t on the diff side

ive been looking at metal gears mine strip very easy so im investing in some blackbone 20/44 i havnt checked my diff side yet but im neally sure they are stock i brought it as a 4x4 conversion so not 100% sure i got some alloy rear lower arms coming tomorow so i might take engine out and have a count :)

No need to take engine out mate, layshaft gear is def 14t on the 4x4......Ive recently built 1 :D

something wrong with the car or gps, you shouls see around 35mph. make sure you have the full throw of the throttle servo,so the carb opens right up.
