thats great, i love tires that get good life.

finished the rebuild last night, took over 2 hours but got there :D

outlaw, vstack and outerwears are now on there.

started to put the hostiles on but got halfway through the first rim and thought thats enough for the night. Man its a slow proecess removing and installing all those bead locks LOL.

tore one of my rear foams which I was p*ssed about but used it anyway, see how it holds up. Hoping I don't have to remove it again until I replace the tires coz I don't like doing it LOL.

Hopefully finish the other 3 rims tonight and then its ready to get dirty again

finally remember my USB cable so uploaded some pics of the old failed pulley's and the new alloy ones.

you can see on the old plastic smooth ones (not toothed) the big flat section, that shouldnt be there, should be completley cylindrical. caused by bearins seizing and pulley not turning, belt slides on section of pulley instead of rolling and causing allot of heat and melting pulley in that section.

yeah im going to buy new hosuings in a couple of months, the bearing recess is a bit flogged out. when I get the new housings i might cover them with something.

thanks fellas, the adaptors are desinged to give it the same stance as using FG rims.

I think its just the angle I took it on, im pretty sure the outside edge is same width as outside edge of the rear.

cant wait to try them out, i think they are going to work excellent on the hard surfaces I usually run on.

gave the FG a run on sat, only got 3/4 tank out of it until my carby started to play up. and the pull start died.

got a faily new 668 put on and a spare pull start so will have to try again.

as a side note though mate bought out a rc plane he recently got and took it for a fly, lasted about 60 secs before the wind got it and pushed it into a 10foot tall fence with barb wire on top, ended in about 5 peices, whole wing assy came off the fuse! Looked spectacular!

we had a camer strapped to it so going to try and get the footage off him.

gotta love crash footage... I heard a saying about flying... it was on a heli forum but I loved it

your first crash is just like your teenage girlfriend's father; the sooner they are out of the way the better.

LOL nice one.

great news first meeting for the new large scale club is booked for 5 feb! finally get some racing in the near future.

still early days but the ball is rolling!

forgot to mention tried the new hostiles.

WOW so much grip! Ive got to learn to drive all over again.

It was on hardpack, ran 3/4 tank, doesn't get the tail out like the bowties so gotta figure out a way to stop the understeer. handles allot like the stock fgg wheels, heaps of grip but you gotta change your driving style if you want good lap times. ill figure it out.

Not a mark on the tires after 3/4 tank which is good, mate ran bit more than me on bowties and they were pretty chewed up at the end of it. Good signs for the hostiles so far, cant wait to test them more. :D

ran another tank at ordish rd today. first time out with an 813, still needs to be tuned properly but pretty impressive so far, very nice off the mark. plug colour is indicating its very rich.

a rock got jammed in the throttle linkage which put a stop to my day with the 4wd but still had the alloy beast to have fun with.

im more sure now than ever that i need a different pipe on this one, the jetro has nothing on the VRC and I think its really holding the performance back.

no money for that for a while though :(

nah I wont swap, ive been wanting the VRC for a while now for my 4WD, just got to make sure im allowed to race with one before I fork out the cash.

clubs opening soon and I want to race this one.

ran a tank in the 4wd on sat, was handling quite well, ive removed the hostiles and put them on the beast, needs all the traction it can get LOL. got bow ties on this now.

im thinking of running fronts all round, i think it will be better balanced and get rid of some of the understeer. still running the 813, i think my tune is better now and its sounding quite nice.

gave it a good bath last night, try and get it ready for the first club meet this weekend :D

That accelerator pump is a problem for standard issue Large Scale operation - I have one on my FG MT and do the same PAAP PAAP all of the time, which forces extra fuel in .... so you'll never get a proper idea if it's tuned correctly or not !!!
Al.

yeah ive heard this, but being 4wd im not constantly blipping the throttle to keep it pointed in the right direction.

i cant decide weather I buy another 668 or try the 990.

i cant work out in my head how you would start a 990, its got no pump so squeezing the trigger does nothing and no choke, so how do you start em?
