managed to get the cover off, front section of the cage needs to come off, thats a pain. only 2 r clips so not too bad.

i wouldnt have believed it if you told me but its so easy underneath, this thing is going to be easier to work on than the MT and that is one of the more basic rc units out there!

My wing lasted 5 mins (too brittle) so I'd recommend buying an elcon or other wing, and keeping the FG one for the shelf. My outer cage died after about 2 hours of abuse, so I woudn't worry about it being a pain to remove!

I'm envious of your 4WD, but couldn't afford it myself.

had a good look over it last night, here's my findings.

Overall solid and well built. Nice attention to details and looks like its going to be easy to work on. Excellent finish on chassis, much better than the MT. Absolutley love how the belt system is all put together and how the layshaft is completley covered so no rocks etc can get in and chew it out. Also rear and front diffs are completey encased so no worries there either. The front uprights are massive, not sure why this big, my MT ones are half the size, also no steering stoppers unlike the MT, see how this goes and add my own if I need to. Also it came with Hitec servos both throttle and brake, really good ones too! Very impressed.

Things I don't like. Transmitter battery cover broke soooooooo easily, I was just trying to remove the cover and see what kind of batteries were in there and it snapped in half. That really annoyed me. Receiver batter is a 1500mah nicd, is this a joke? Im guessing this wont last the space of a tank before I need to charge it again. think ill be getting another one soon.

Did a quick bench run. idles ok but very rich, ill play with the tune shortly. Hoping to take it for a 10 min run today on lunch break to start heat cycling it.

Anyone know where I can get a good quality switch from? don't care about the price I want the best. I don't run a failsafe and don't want to so I take no chances when it comes to electronics.

ok pipe yes im hoping the handling is going to be allot better than the MT, hopefully i wont need as much real estate to do U turns.

brawn fg when i started looking for another toy I couldnt believe how much FG's have come down in price. when I bought the MT mid 09 there were no 4WD of any style in the FG range that was under 2K or even close to it. Now you can get a RTR one like mine for $1600 and thats through a local supplier, may have been cheaper through DDM or the likes.

atom don't worry i took pics of it new coz its never going to look like that again! this thing is going to cop a beating this weekend at a new bmx track I found and expect that body to be un-recognisable.

bulletproof that shell is fkn awesome, id do anything to get rid of that stoopid man so ill be getting one of these when I can afford a pipe. Good find!

well i just ordered a 3600mah receiver battery and a hitec switch with dust boot, should get it tommorow. ill mount it up on weekend and hopefully get some pics. That should allow me to turn it on and off without removing the cage and body which will be heaps easier.

took the baja for its first run yeasterday. so impressed. not used to being able to accelerate and steer at the same time! only ran it for 10 mins to heat cycle. Only did 1/2 throttle passes but its geared nice, not really low like the MT.

threw it into a u turn at a decent speed and it stayed plat and did what it was told. this is going to be fun!

wired up the new receiver batter and doing the switch now. going to be fun trying to hide all these wires!

just finished trimming up the body, much better now. I can get to the pull start and carby needles without removing the body. also fitted up a switch but not happy with it. I don't trust it to be honest, ill give it a run tommorow but when your not running a kill switch you need to be careful.

i will try and get up some pics of the body tommorow. I should have taken a couple of pics of the stock body to show the difference but too late now.

I'm very interested about access to the carb with the body on, can you try and get a pic of this. taa!

yea man you should, im getting the beatle shell of that seller soon and ill let you know how good and strong they are :euro:

thanks neb, i just had my first full tank run at my local track. wow!

the quickest lap I can do in my MT is about 37.94 secs, within the first 5 mins of the tank today I managed to do a 26.17! thats a huge improvement.

handles awesome but there is room for improvement. firstly I would like to address the shocks. They are too soft, even with waist high jumps its hitting the chassis and I don't like the sound its making when it does that! whats the easiest way to stiffen up the suspension? ( i never thought id be asking how to stiffen up the suspension on a FG!)

other than that when going hard it does understeer a little, ill have to look into how to limit that.

Put your beetle shocks on it.....that will make it harder:clown:

I'll bet the understeer isn't as bad as the beetle.....

4wd's tend to understeer more than 2wd's cause the front wheels are breaking traction when under power....

It's just going to be a learning curve on how to drive it....

Learn how to induce oversteer.......

Commonly known as "throttle induced oversteer"

Ease into the corner.....steer.....gun it.....counter steer......

Simples....

sorry haven't been able to get the pics up yet, having trouble re-sizing, ill have another go tonight.

had a nother tank at the track yeasterday. find for best steering results with stock setup to carry allot of speed into the corner, turn hard and full, this is the only way to get the back out, once halfway through the corner get on the gas,

what your saying makes perfect sense ros, id still like to try and lessen it a bit though.

batter and switch are working excellent, very happy even though its a bit messy but cant see any of it when the body is on so no real prob there.

throttle servo started to play up a bit yeasterday, will have a look at it tonight.

sounds like you had fun , these buggys are far more fun than the mt's
i found by putting ballon springs on it stiffened everything up so it might help you out on the track by getting sum

put piccys on a sharing website and copy img and paste it on the page ;)

think I got the throttle servo sorted last night. forgot about the pics though sorry, will try to get that online tonight. couldnt test the servo as it was bucketing last night!

im thinking maybe a front sway bar will help my understeer problems, transfer weight to other side, what do you guys think?
