that makes perfect sense voo. thanks everyone.

hey ross, are you running those despo rims? are you able to measure them with a set of tires on for me? ive already purcahsed the fronts, I just want a set of rears but only if they are same or very very close in diameter to the fronts.

ill make sure the treads are the same so that they will be 100% same in diameter, all I need to do now is make sure the diameter of the front rims are the same as the rear rims.

The dia of the rims is the same front to back........same with the tyres..

awesome thanks mate.

I did another steering servo at the track yeasterday, thats 2 in 2 weeks for me! I somehow managed to snap the output gear (ones that goes onto the horn) in half! Never seen that before.

Fixed the original servo with a horn and put that in but ofcourse its raining now! Oh well only 6 more days till the next saturday.

805 is all plastic, i only bought it to keep me going until I could afford a good one. ill get a gear set and keep it as a spare.

hre's a couple more vids.

I've been torn with the decison to convert my marder to 4wd for the longest. In your honest opinion should I do it? You've had ur 4wd baja for a while now so what do you think?

what do you mainly use your marder to do? do you do track work or open field bashing?

ill be honest my baja aint that fun in open field bashing, doesn't slide, doesn't lift the front, turns like its on rails and not much upsets it.

99.9% of my driving is spent on tracks though and I would not hesitate for a second in buying another 4wd again, i love it! My mt is uncontrollable on our hard packed slippery tracks so the MT doesn't get much use anymore, if it was 4WD i think it would get used allot more.

hope this helps, i cant give you a direct answer as ive never controlled a marder RWD before but if its ANYTHING like the MT then yes go the 4WD you wont regret it.

nah haven't tried them. might do this weekend though.

got my front despo's and bow tie style tyres easterday, now just gotta find the rears (and the money to pay for them LOL).

then i can get my adaptors and start tearing up the track!

got some more vids up in the above link, please check them out.

also what is the best wheel adaptors I should get so i can run hpi wheels/tyres in my fg baja?

thanks for the info waqr, allot of people have been telling me to go the wheel wizards as they keep the original stance/wheel position as stock, ill have a think about it and place my order next week. then all i need is a set of rears and and im off!

thanks BTB its an awesome bash spot, there's a massive gravel carpark if you want to shoot yourself in the face with rock, a massive grassy area to rip up and then there's the track itself. my only complaint is that the track isnt a circuit, in that I mean there is a starting point and a finishing point, it doest loop back on itself.

got some shocker questions hoping to get a better idea of how to get where I want.

as some of you know i upgraded my suspension recently to alloy ones with custom internals (built for me through CFR). I find the suspension way too stiff and slow to react.

I contacted CFR and was advised to back off the mounting points so they don't bind/stick and change the mounting points so the shockers sit in their most upright position which ive done. it did make a slight improvement but still no where near how I want them.

Ideally I would like them to be more like the 5B SS suspension where its soft up top (full extended) but get firmer as they become more depressed, landing off jumps etc and quick to return to top (fully extended).

Currently my new suspension is very very firm, so on grass running instead of absorbing small bumps it just hops over them, loosing traction and getting the tyres in the air when they shouldnt be and when jumping it bottoms out too easily and very slow to go back to fully extended.

I plan on taking a vid and showing CFR to get his opinion on how to rectify. I will post here when ive done it.

why don't u buy some tuned springs [diff colours ment diff rates], CFR used to sell sets of them a while ago .

yeah I can get the tuning spring set, little expensive but no worries if it works, ive got the violet springs on there at the moment. they way im thinking being the stiffest spring they should push the shocker out when compressed quicker than the others, the tuning spring set is only going to have softer springs so most likley make it worse.

ive also confirmed that the shockers have 4000wt oil in them.
