Just got back into rc and loving my 30DN BWS-5B buggy with the V2 kit. Everything is going well with it. From watching some videos it runs about 37 mph. Getting a GPS for speed for Christmas lol. They offer a high speed pinion/spur for it. Stock is 58T/19T. The high speed is 54T/23T. What should I expect on increase in top speed with that? Also how bad will that affect my take off quickness. It has the 29cc. Actually a lot quicker on the throttle than I expected.

Exactly what I was wondering. Thanks man. Will the other engines like a zenoah etc bolt right up? I understand if adjustments need to be made. I'll run this one til it dies and go more reliable later. But if it would handle it at same rpm how big is the speed difference estimated?

It should bolt up, so for a g320rc you need a 32cc clutch housing and you'll need to retain the Cy stuff like the clutch holder, fan cover. The g320rc also uses its own plastic cover that's sits over the head so a Cy why or anything under a 32cc will not fit.

So the age old thing for moving is torque gets you going and horsepower keeps you going. In this case yea the 29cc can do it but it's going to stress the engine and probably smoke your clutch. Ever see fast cars get pushed on the Bonneville salt flats and run 300mph? They don't have the torque to turn the tall gears.

I second that quoted statement. I learned the hard way by not completing ALL of the homework.
