I need room in my shop/garage/man cave. My 5ths are piled on desks, tables etc all around the shop. I have too much crap in here basically. I have been thinking about doing this for a while. Well a trip to home depot yesterday, some shelving mounting slats and 20 inch brackets, a few screws... my wall where I mounted has no rhyme or reason to stud width. I have shelves to the right and studs are even spacing. I measured from the wall on left 12, 16 and 2 and tried banging nails in. tried measuing back from last known stud on right... after a while I gave up and just started banging a nail through until I hit studs. I have mud to fill the holes haha. these studs were 17 3/4" apart?

anyway, this worked out good. next is to remove that massive desk, and put another bracket on the wall the the left for the other 3 (well 2 now but I just ordered a med wb fg chassis for the mercedes clk body)

hey pipeous, where is your rampage????? hehehe

nice rc´s. show me/us a vid of the trophy truck please. im thinking about get one.

HAHA. I wanted to try this out before I bought enough for the rest. also need different spacing. I have 3 more to go up, plus just buying an fg 4wd baja and trading to get my fh mt back... so will need a couple more racks... going to get a new flat screen for my puter and a small desk, turf this monster (desk is 7 foot long 1 1/2 inch maple, side is another 4 foot on the L) then my music gear can fit under the rc's so I can do some recording and stuff, maybe close this end of the shop with a divider to stay warmer.

here's a vid, lots of redcats, nutechs, a couple hpi's and the cen (stock out of the box cen, one steering servo isn't enough hehe). Ross had his baja setup stiff for on road at first so very loose. we were bumping pretty good. counter steering was slow so it was like a typical slash, boating around back and forth. what a hoot...

and yes that is a redcat rally doing it dirty style. I tossed fg marder tires on, hacked the body up and zap strapped a rampage roll cage on. I let my bud drive it for the weekend as we were staying at his place.... only damage to the rally was a stripped steering servo. not bad at all.

That looked like a blast. The video turned out real good. Is that a secluded get away w/ a private track in the middle of Paridise? I'd like to have that out my back door.

the track is on private land on vancouver island. old member to the forum here most know as moo built it.

well I sold the rally last night to my bud that lives in the complex. he has 3 of my 5th scales now hehe. a deal came up on a new fg 4wd baja and I couldn't resist. I'll buy another one from the nitro rc shop in january so it's all good

ya he used a go pro. awesome cameras.

I've added to the racks, and changed spacing a bit. Now have 6 and room for my guitars and crap. 4 guitars, 6 rc's, computer, netbook and a bunch of support stuff all sit on the desk now. CEN is gone, added and fg vw and a fender guitar since this pic. doing a 4wd conversion to the vw on the kitchen table right now

I spent stupid money this month on this month. I made a deal to buy the VW back. Ordered the conversion and some bling. I had to pay for everything. I put the F1 and CEN up for sale. VW and Baja share parts. Back end Nutech parts and FG parts work together, same with the Car and Semi. The other 2 require another different box of parts... Christmas Eve buddy bought the CEN. walked over paid the VW off. Put the conversion on the credit card so I have a month to pay it off.. economics.

The truck ran good. I'd just taken it out a few days before and ran it. The Redcat Jet Pro pipe really helped. The motor in them rips good. Brakes are really amazing. I had to turn epa to 40% or it wanted to nosie. And I realized to get all the bling to fix all the models I wanted was about $2600. I shook my head, step away from the paypal... I was going to try and keep the tires and body for one of my buggies. I really like the tires. They worked good. it needs 2 servos to steer, and you need to take the washer from outside the rim and put behind the wheel hex, by bearing. even if you tighten the wheel nut all the way, it still has play. can't tighten. I thought originally the servo saver had all the slop but it was the spacing. still could use shims on the servo saver and maybe bearings inside the plastic parts. better steering tie rod. with dual 805's though it handled much better. ross was tapping me in the video. it would fishtail me and take so long to counter I'd be coming back across.. rather funny. like a boat. felt like driving a big stock 2wd slash, except being 4wd. but that boaty feel was exactly the same. I drove it a lot that first day and chewed up gears. the belt conversion would be the ticket. could use chassis braces too, especially at the back. seen a bent chassis on one.

I am racing the vw against a field of redcat rally cars. dustin is ordering one from nitro rc shop. just asked me about them today. he has a redcat mt and the sharing common parts thing for him is the sme deal. those cars are fun to drive. dave has a rally. they are out bashing right now. I have to fix the mess on my kitchen table hehe speaking of which, many piles of patrts await. been putting it off too long. was up until 5 am wrenching last night

That how it goes with the rc virus...............damn expensive. Selling one to pay for another. Keeping them in rotation! You got a nice gas collection there, Pipeous.

Oh ya. I love it. This is my 4th year in business. I've had to sell off toys around winter every year then build again. This year I am buying crap in winter. the semi will always be my fav. and now I have 4 on roads and 2 off roads (though one on road is really an off road).

I had considered selling all my rc stuff off this fall, as I was looking at racing go karts. but then I remembered the last 1 hr enduro race we had in karts and how much I hurt after. I quit playing hockey when the pain levels got higher than the thrill level. I'll just stick to driving with a controller. Virus is a good word to describe. it. I'm allready looking around the fg stores this morning. sure hard finding a simple gas tank right now. everyone is out of stock. I need a complete tank. mine leaks around the seals, and the other is a duratrax tank. Guess I have to fix the duracrap one for now. where's my shoe goo LOL

semi isn't in the pic as it's stripped waiting for parts to finish the winter rebuild. the vw is almost done and I have parts left from the 4wd conversion to go on the mercedes there.
