Hey Guys!

I am Brazilian but I am living in China now. I just got here my Rampage TT, but straight from the HSP factory, that is the one who produce to Xceed, Himoto, Redcat etc....

It is my first time on R/C and I had a problem on my very first hour testing the car......Really nice and easy on the first gallon....

Without any crash on something I got my stearing servo stucked in maybe 40 minutes running.

It is the standard GWS S688-2BB/MG and after desassembly I realize that something smells burned inside.

I am using the HSP Standard AM Remote Control (AM T-08 27.145MHZ).

I don't know if I did something wrong or is only the usual bad quality of chinese products. Somebody can help me?!?!

Thankx

yes it is normal. the servos should be replaced asap. mainly the throttle servo as when it burn up like that it will be in motion:eek:. most rtr model kits come with poor quality servos as most of us rc'ers have our own radio gear. here is a link to a standard servo that works great and most of use. not sure where you can get it by you, but something with these specs and metal gears woild wok fine. try ebay.

THank you man!

I can bring it from USA however I will try also to get another one in China as well. Will not have the same quality but will be waaaay cheaper meanwhile my HiTec is on the way....

Two other questions......Does that work with my AM Radio?!??!

Do you have the spec for the throttle servo HiTec as well?????

Thankx Bro

here is the more common throttle servo. its the hs-645. i have these in all my rigs with no fail. locks up the brakes with no problem.

they will work with your standard radio. AM isnt my choice, but if it works for you then thats ok. i forgot to mention..eek:o.. the stock stearing servo is slightly shorter in size then any other servo. redcat has the futaba/hitech mounting bracket that will allow you to run any other servo(many manufactors do this, not sure why). you can get the hitech in, but you must dremel a good amount from the mounting bracket away for it to work. here is the link with part# for the proper redcat bracket..

the throttle servo will drop right in..

To be honest I didnt choose the radio. It came with the car(RTR). I know is not good but for now will be enough. I paid 530 usd for the TT with 30cc engine(It was custom made, the standard was 23cc). Brand new on the HSP box. I guess is very cheap compared with USA... Even with bad servos and AM Control is good for the dolar.

For while I will use this servo temporaly http://www.springrc.cn/en_index/view_list.asp?id=193&typeid=48

Is not perfect but it has metal gears and dual ball bearing. The GWS was almost all plastic gears and sigle bearing... a piece of poop....In China this things are cheap but for the good brands as Hitec, Futaba etc things use to be more expensive than in USA though.....and also quite hard to find.

The size is pretty much the same however the holes on the servo will need to be modified a little....not much I guess....As soon as I get home I will assembly and take some snaps.

Thanks Bro.....

thats a great deal you got on that machine!! they go for about $600 here with stock motor(23cc) and no radio.. that servo has good specs. i have some scanner rc servos(taiwan). they drop right in, but i had to trim the little nipple for the lower mounting bracket.. good luck bud!! and get some pics up when you can..

Some AM radios work great with the Rampage. I use the Traxxas TQ3 (w/killswitch on the third channel). If you put the RX crystals in the TX and the Tx crystal in the RX you create a backwords frequency for added security or you can buy "rare" crystals on ebay that most people don't use or know about. I run mine on backwords frequency blue channel which really freaks people out when we both run blue channels together without interference. Also the stock steering servo uses a mini T size mabuchi motor so if your servo motor dies it is replaceable if you can find the correct wind.
