hi fellas just going to steel spur gears question is should I lube them or not if what's best to use.

Only put grease on gears that are fully enclosed like diff gears. If you put grease on exposed gears all the dirt sticks to it and it trashes your gears.

Agree (mostly) depends on if you use more for road use, and or on/off road.

If road use, then any bearing grease will work fine. I use a ptfe based (food grade) grease, that is quite expensive.
But I get my cars to 100mph and faster.
My off road stuff, no I do not bother with grease (as long as the correct mesh is done) you should be good without it.

I dry lube my steel gears with a Teflon based spray after every run. I spray down my bones and pins too if no boots.

don't grease the spur gear. its just gunna fling everwhere on your brakes and clutch. its also unnecessary. in the transmission do so. on the spur gear don't bother

thanks guys i was thinking about some dry lube or something like that or even silicone spray and let it dry.i think i have a meching problem too rovan rubbish.
