Steering Crank/Linkage Question

I am putting my KM baja back together and the steering linkage/crank has a lot of up and down play to it. It slides up and down on the two posts like it is missing some type of spacer. Any suggestions? Anyone else have this or is it supposed to be this way? I have built a ton of cars over the years and have never had this before.

buy some fast eddy steering post shims

np, its a hassle to tear it down but you just add shims on top posts till theres no more up/down slop left

I still have it torn down, so it won't be a big deal. Even so, it would be worth it, that's just too much play.

yah on my t1000 i did alot of upgradin before anythin ever broke, in fact nothing broke, i just got upgrade bug, and i discovered mine was pretty sloppy too, and the shims did the trick, bbut i upgraded to ally steering control, that and the shims made a solid steering setup
