Steering issue.

I recently installed a hitec 5765 servo on my rampage xt. After a few mods, it went sucessfull with the install, however i have an electrical issue now. When i leave the stock transmitter in "norm" for the steering and put it on the ground, it barely steers. When i put the car on a stand, it steers perfectly. So i switched the transmitter on "reverse" and it steers great on the ground, even when running around.....only with reverse steering. What can i do to get my steering to work properly with my transmitter steering setting set to "norm"?

There is a threaded thumb nut on the steering rack where all your steering linkage hooks onto. You thread it down to put more tension on the spring and up to remove some tension
