Should one 805MG be enough to steer a Rampage with HPI Baja 5T rear wheels? I have 2 new 805MGs. I am running a Spektrum DSX3S with one steering servo. What I am seeing is with fully charged batteries the servo give a slight jitter all the time. On top of that, it acts like it cannot turn fully in either direction. I made some adjustments and made sure the linkage is not binding set the travel to 95% expo is set to 0 and still it seems as if the radio is not telling the servo what to do. I tried rebinding with the 5 and 11 settings for frame rate as well. With the wheels in the air, if I give slow smooth inputs, I would say 90% of the time it goes as far as I would like to see it go. If my inputs are fast, maybe I will get 50% of the way there. I was wondering if anyone has seen this on their ramps with other brand radios or the stock radios. I will be switching it back to the stock radio for testing as soon as I find what I did with the dang receiver :p

I should also add I have used 3 different receivers, 2 transmitters (first one went back for warranty replacement) and I have no issues with the T/B servo at all. Have tried to connect direct to the battery with a y that was supplied with the servo and noting I do seems to make a difference.

I run the stock mt wheels with one hitech 805bb fo1 steering and it does fine never had any issues with it also for mounting it the aluminum futaba mounts works great with that servo direct bolt in and solid sounds to me like you have a bad servo if it happened with diif radios

Thanks Chevy,

I have the mount they bolt up nice. I am still looking for the other receiver to take the radio out of the mix all together. These servos have been used but maybe only 3 or 4 runs so they are quite new. I am guessing its the radio. Spektrum just responded to my question and asked me to send in the receiver I asked if they wanted all three of them :)

Found the stock rcvr. No issues. Looks like my problems have been my DSX3S all along. I am going to email them my findings and see what can be done. Doubt I can get my $$ back might just have to suck it up and by a Futaba. If they will warranty replace the 3 rcvrs I have I might try it again. other wise I might try and use it my my 1/8th scale stuff.

I asked DDM has one I emailed them they said it is a direct fit for the 805BB/MG

Spoke to someone at spektrum. They are thinking bad pot in the TX sending it in for some TLC.....

FINALLY got it back. Same issues. No issues with the Fly Sky I bought. I will call one more time before the TX it ends up on the wrong end of my shot gun :D

When you finally trash that Spektrum please be sure to make a video slinging it off a skeet slinger and taking it out with some #7 steel shot.

I called them again they were most helpful. They are going to send me a call tag to send it in again. We will see. They are nice guys for sure. This is just really frustrating that the 35 dollar i took a chance even buying it radio beats the pants off the 250 dollar one :D

I've had similar issues when using analog servos with my 3PKS. I'm guessing the Spektrum might transmit in something similar to Futaba's HRS mode, which can be turned off on the Futaba FASST systems. Not owning a Spektrum system, I can't inform you on how to do this with that particular transmitter, but I suspect that if you look in the manual, there may be some advice on switching between analog (805) and digital (5745/55) servos.

Good luck.

Thats an excellent point. I asked them about that and the technician I had said they should work just fine. I might take it back down to my LHS and see if he has a digital servo we can test with since I don't own one.

Thanks for the input!

I have got better steering now :) I tighented the servo saver and it corners great now. :o I cant believe I missed that. It will be a year I have the Rampage in May and today was a great day (for the most part). Started out frying one of my 805MGs. Tore it apart replaced it with the other 805MG I had, replaced the battery (which i think contributed to the frying) and for the first time ever I ran an entire tank through this baby with out a single issue :D :D SaaaaaWeeeeeeTTTT!

I think I have turned the corner!

....AND i am STILL married!!!!
