When I bought my truck it had sat unused for 2 or 3 years. The pads were stuck to the discs. I've cracked them off but the wheels are still really tight. Any ideas on what is the likely cause? Or things to check first? Or how to back the pads off?

Cheers.

Take the wheel off and there should be 2 allen key srcews on the caliper to back the pads off. If its been sat for 2-3 yrs the wheel bearings will have siezed up too which is probably more the cause if you have already freed up the brakes. Get them either off ebay or RC Bearings

Some good advice - cheers.

I've got quite a few bearings knocking about so i'll give them the acid bath treatment to see if I can breathe some life into them.

Turns out that due to sitting the pads had swollen on the friction area and rusted on the other side. Couple of mins with sandpaper sorted them out.
