Stock Diff Pins

Has anyone tried to heat treat/harden the stock diff cups and PINS ?





The cups have alot more meat around the hole, and if the pins were hardened they would be the cats a$$.

I twisted off 2 stockers yesterday, and the third drive cup has cracks around where the hardened steel pin goes through. I tempered a couple stockers last night, and bashed prety hard this morning, and did not break anything. I honestly don't know what is better.

With the stock ones the pins were breaking...so harder pins would be good.
