Been down at Deeside today and running with a few of the guys when for no reason Jas The Last had his stock steering servo just lock up, this thing was stuck solid. I took it apart thinking it may have some grit inside but it was really clean. Tried putting the servo arm back on and turning it by hand and it was not having it.

Has anyone ever experienced what this might be and what was the cause?

I'd do a full strip down too, mine had the odd plastic gear, it snapped a plastic tooth and got catch up, resulting in burning the motor out.
Still got the servo if its only the gears if he needs them for replacements.

Right as per instructions I have stripped it down and found that the motor had welded itself solid, so now on the look out for a new throttle/brake servo if anyone has so ideas or point me in the right direction. Mid range and price.;)

i run a 645mg hitec on my 2 and found them to be ideal, you'll get loads of choice.

try www.servoshop.co.uk (based in frodsham)for whatever choice you go for, throttle servos arn't that expensive. excellent service from him too.

645's for their specs are over rated, ive fried 2 and wont use them again.

my bluebird has now done about 12 tanks and going strong, still super quick and torquey, and half the price of a 645. you can get them from hobbyking.

If I remember right I have a couple 645's in my MT and I don't think they have enough torque from what I am expecting to get out of them.:(

i had the same problem in my FG MT and FG Baja. changed them both to bluebirds and now I can lock up the rears.

their a reliable servo, don't get me wrong, but I think for the prices you can get a much stronger one.
