Stock Servo Question

digital if the transmitter is digital. mine come with a upgraded 2.4 digital radio, therefore servos are digital on mine, but i swapped out radios to a 4pks with 5755 and 7955 digital servos. and really the radio should be first upgrade you make anyways, its a pretty cheap radio they come with, a FLYSKY radio rebadged with km stickers

i actually believe the km servo is analog. i know the hpi sfl-10 mg is analog as is the hpi sfl-11mg servo which i am assuming the km steering servo is a copy of one of these servos

Reason I ask is I fried my steering servo not long after replacing the 2.4 km radio with a traxxas 2.4 I did not realize that the traxxas could only be run with a digital servo. So i want to make sure that was my problem before I install the new hitec 5755

i very seriously doubt that the traxxas radio can only run digital servos, i haven't seen anything on traxxas website to indicate that teh system is only compatible with digital servos.

i personally don't have any issues running digital/digital or digital/analog but i am on a spektrum system because it is better quality and unlike the traxxsa system doesn't feel like i am playing with a tyco car LOL.

ok i just found some info that may be of interest to you, i found the traxxas 2.4ghz radio has a 13ms frame rate which means it IS compatible with analog servos not just digital servos, my spektru has a faster 11Ms framte rate and it is compatible with analog servos, so with that said i would look into the servo itself the servo lead, or the rx on your system being bad. the radio system itself SHOULD be compatible with analog servos of course i myself will never use a traxxas radio system myself.

but like i said LR my km come with a flysky 2.4 digital radio, and the setup was stock as digital so since my truck come with digital radio upgrade my servos were didgital as well, im sure tho the older trucks before mine that had the stock radios were analog and analog servos, but seems currently theyre being packed with digital stuff

I am sure the traxxas link 2.4 system is only digital compatible. lots of info on that just from googling it.

Here is the servo my KM came with

The KM radio mine shipped with looked identical to this one, reason i changed to the traxxas one is that the stock receiver died

like i said ditch the traxxas radio because it FAILS. i looked at teh specs direct from traxxas and it shows a 13ms frame rate my spektrum has a faster 11ms and it it works perfectly fine with BOTH analog AND digital servos. the link you posted to the traxxas forum simply shows a split between those that have no problems and those that do when trying to run analog servos, one even comments it is a problem with the traxxas link itself.

my advice would be to ditch the entry level traxxas and get yourself a nice spektrum system like a DX3s or DX3r ;) .

check you frame rate on the flysky radio, if it is 11MS or slower (13, ms, etc.) then it SHOULD work fine with analog servos, if not it is a fault with the radio system.

The traxxas 2.4 has better range than the dx3s. I was using an airtronics m11 with spektrum pro module and receiver. The spektrum module went bad, I bought a friend's backup radio, a hobby king 2.4.

Guess what? I prefer it to the m11 and it seems to have better range and feels more responsive.

everyone has a preference bud not saying otherwise, what i am saying is IMHO the traxxas radios have to much of a "toy" feel and if the 13ms frame rate cannot support analog servos the radio has a bug. i personally have NEVER had an issue with a spektrum radio system be it surface or air and i will continue to use tehm as i find them a high quality product.

yeah the TRX 2.4 was just a short term solution. Just was trying to identify any compatibility issues with the hitec 5755 before i hook it up. Probably will replace the radio system next season
