I have an MT from the first shipment, where the shock shafts used a c-clip to retain the piston instead of the washer they use know. So far the shafts have held up with no issues other than the c-clip will only last so long, I am using the HPI clip, then it breaks and I have no dampening. So I decided to order me some replacement shafts that use the washer instead of the c-clip, this is where my problem starts. The original shafts on my shocks are different than the ones I ordered. My front shaft measures 89.12mm and the replacement shaft (50121) measures 94.29mm, the rear shaft was 94.88mm and the replacement (50122) measures 99.92. So I have question for you guys who have the newer shocks, do your shock shafts go all the way inside the shock body when fully compressed? I ended up putting the front replacements into my rear shocks, but this leaves me with no replacements for the front shocks.

Also, is anyone using the Redcat piggy back shocks and if so how are they working for you. I am assuming they use a washer and nut to retain the piston, if someone could verify this that would be great.

hmm. thats odd. sre you saying the shock shafts bottom out in the shock body? im running stock shock in my on-road MT. they stuff straight up into the shock and bottom out on the spring retainer. was also runing the stock shafts in my TT up untill a few weeks ago and it was the same thing.. no issues. maybe they re-designed the shock body as well to compinsate for the longer shaft? mine are the second version of V1 with the nut/washer

My old shock shafts go all the way in the shock body when they bottom out. The new shafts do not go all the way in the shock body they bottom out with some of the shock shaft still exposed. In other words the piston is hitting the inside top of the shock body.
