If new and not ran, id make sure you have a good coating of oil in the engine and keep in in the house. Bottom end especially as that's where your bearings are.

Pretty much what I was going to do with it. Wasn't sure if I was missing any thing, thx

Store in a big plastic bag, & put a slightly oily rag in exhaust port
Pull it over slowly a couple of times a month, that will help keep the inside all nice and lubed up

If you live in a high humidity area, put a stocking full of rice in the plastic bag with your motor, that will take any moisture out of the bag you store it in
