So, andybody that reads all the posts knows that my new MT is about to Pi$$ me off. I am trying to remove the gear plate I just installed so that I can figure out why the clutch is engaging it at idle speed.

While doing so, I stripped 2 hex screw heads. I don't know why they are so rediculously tight, I sure as hell don't remember wrenching them in like this.

How do you guys deal with these? Who makes better screws that can handle a wrench?

I like to use dremel to drill the head until I can fit a flat into it and wrench it from there. Then I take the strip screw out to the range and shoot it. desismileys_6836.gif

Or you can chop off top and bottom portion of head with dremel and use pliers... but this way too much damage to the chassis. Some people use those bits and hammered it into the strip hex and twist it out....

I will look and see if we have something like that here... most likely not though...

I hate to do it, but I might end up drilling this thing out... so, RC DAD... once the other upgrades are bought, Ill be ordering one of those new high speed drive belts gear plates.

If you just drill off the head enough to get the gear plate out and then get a vise grip on what's left of the screw. You should be able to get them out.

That's the most likely COA for me right now... but once again I am already back on my 12 hour shift so I will have to make that tomrorrow afternoon's adventure...

Tune in next time for another episode of "JOE CANT MAKE AN MT GO"!!!
