Stripped Steel gears on MT

OK guys. Dig real deep thinking about this one. Stripped plastic gears (the two inside) so thought what the heck. Bought a set of steel gears. Put them on and check the fit, spacing looked good, did not re-install cover. Ran about 1/2 tank of fuel thru and engine spun up truck did not move. Went over a looked, yep you got it. The two outside steel gears are stripped. After taking off gears used dial indicator to check run out of shafts. Nothing bent. I'm so lost. What went wrong?

Where did you get the gears and what style are they? Square drive or pin drive?


Can you send me the gears, so I can check hardness on them?

I bought them from the local Redcat dealer. Square drive. Happy to send them to you. Will box them up right now and include the package they were in. Would love to know if it was the parts or something I did.
