Your joking right? Your telling me they sell these things as a standard suck machine? You have to spend the hours implementing after market parts? I was hoping to buy extra parts just give it small boosts of performance that I already have...when I had time to do it. I work quite a bit and have little time to do all this at once in hopes to get this truck moving....I think I'll take it out and make a video of me shooting it with an AR-15 while I have my 4 year old drive it. lol

MAN this piece definitely isn't worth $700...haha
This I'd like to see...

Again, the singel most important upgrade you could do is an aftermaket pipe (such as the Dominator or CPI). This is neccessary for all cars (HPI, FG etc...) since the exhaust can that comes with these cars doesn`t let the engines potential out.

You will be amazed over the power gain (a lot less bogging) you will see with a proper exhaust :)

Do these after market exhaust make them louder? I can't really have this thing get any louder... :(

It's going to be very loud over stock. I have the jetpro, they also make a silencer for it as well.
Know of a good place to buy a Exhaust with a Silencer?

Can you suggest which one of those exhaust pipes would fit the MT? And would fit with the body on the truck?

Also, does it matter which silencer to get? I imagine none of them would interfere with the placement of the plastic mold that goes on top of the truck?

That Dually Silencer looks pretty cool. :)

They all do the same thing. If you want a direct fit pipe, it's either going to be a DDM pipe or a Jetpro. Both of which are side pipes, and will be outside the body. If you want a rear exit pipe, you're going to have to mod something to fit.

You could also try a 5T can, or an X-Can. You'll see a slight performance gain with these, but no where near what a tuned pipe would provide.

I think having some kind of internal pipe would help it stay clean. Do these companies sell different molds that fit these pipes so the cover doesn't get in the way?

Little late on this but will the 9,500 clutch be too high? Since redound is about 15,000 would the 8,000 be better? Or does this beast need the rpm to get going?

I've never used the 9,500. I'm using the 8,000 and it seems to be enough. I'm a basher, though. If you're into racing, the 9,500 would be your best option.

Thanks for info deluge. I am going to be the only redcoats running at the 5th scale only racetrack in petaluma CA and I want to blow some minds when they see the truck run. They all have hpi and new losi. You been really happy with yours and setup?

I run the cpi pipe for the 5b baja but it has to be modified to fit the MT if you know some body that can do some welding your good to go here is some pic's of my MT

I got the 8000rpm clutch installed by some hobby store....man does it make a big difference. The default clutch they send with these heavy beasts is not good enough. At least with the 8000rpm clutch the thing can at least kick up some dirt now.
