What kind of rims & tyres you fellow XRC-drivers are using for your buggys?
I need to desing some kind of winter-tyres with studs (for driving on ice & snow, obviously) and the official XRC-tyres seem to be out of stock almost everywhere.

Will the rims designed for FG-buggys fit?

Also some recommendations for reliable internet stores are welcome :)

Hi,

Yes FG rims will fit. I am running the standard beadlock rims for easy of replacing tyres. I have the stock ones on the front and Proline Badlands on the rear. Very happy. These might be pretty good in the snow because of their chunky pattern. So far ive run 3 tanks at a gravel bmx track and they are hardly showing any wear which im please about.

How do you weather proof your servos, receiver and battery box from the snow? Im scared to hose mine down after a big run for concern of ruining the servos and receiver.

That´s great, I ordered a pair straight away and made winter-tyres from the stock wheels (25 mm screws through the tire, "pretty good" grip and works like a charm :) ).

About the electronics; I think that the servos are waterproof to some extent. At least they don´t seem to mind about the snow, in which the are being engulfed daily. Their torgue is so strong that they don´t stop working, even if some ice started to form in them. Other electronics I sealed with regular window sealing tape, which I glued to the radiogear tray. System is very_waterproof.

Here are some crappy photos to "clarify" :)

Nice work, might have to do the same for my gear. We never get snow where I live but it rains allot in winter and wouldnt mind bashing through some mud etc.
