Sym or turtle?

I took the 5b ss off the shelf and considering a possible rebuild. Im on the fence about the steering upgrade. I know either way i could probably use a new servo, I'm still running the original 5b ss kit servo.
Anyone have thoughts on the turtle racing hd steering compared to the symmetrical steering. I know with the sym kit the battery compartment gets changed out but is the Turtle as good. And obviously the cost is different but other than that any difference?

Got the turtle racing hd kit in and changed out the plastic links , threw in a new servo and DDM lipo, seems to be alot better than what it was. I have to admit this is the first thing I've added to it in about 15 years other than gas.

So what is the cable for? Sorry if I missed something. I did notice you had brakes up front but wondering what the cable in pic does...
