Came home from work this weekend to that big box. I thought for sure it was a box full of packing peanuts, thus its large size... nope, it was just a huge box full of a huge truck.

my first gasser, so my oppinions don't mean squat, but take it for what it is.

This thing is suprising, I gave it a once over, swapped out the tx/rx and battery pack., molested it for awhile before taking it out to the garage and firing it up, 2 pulls and it came to a high idle, a small screw down on the low end and it purred perfect.

We just got about 4 inches of fresh snow, but i wasnt going to let that stop me. i put a tank through it before I decided to stop (more on that - I didnt actually decide to stop willingly)

Runs awesome, Was just taking it easy. never skipped a beat.

Untill of course, the steering servo decided it only wanted to work when it wanted to - No surpirse here, everyone says it, electronics are garbage, and there it is.

So I took it inside to thaw it out, and now that I was satisfied with the way it drove, I could REALLY get into and see what I wanted to do.

the parts quality seems fantastic. everything is super beefy and feels very solid.

My son is syked about it, except it terrifies him when its echoing in the garage.

I tore the 2-speed down just to see the quality of that, and it sure seems there. As long as that OWB holds up, I don't see an issue.

The diff is BEEFY. actually had silicone oil in it. I did however fill it up with what I like.

Just got done placing an order to DDM, Hitec throttle and steering servos and some other not needed items... (don't tell the wife):w00t:

heres a couple shots.. I sort of lacked on taking pictures before i came back inside with it.. can you blame me :D

On a side note.. everyone says how shoddy these bodys are,, but this thing is pretty darn thick? and sure feels tough.

Glad you likey, yep servos aren't the best and the first thing that will need swapping even if they hadn't gone. You may want to also swap the TX/RX as they aren't up to much either, seen a couple of faulty 1's...

Not sure why KM have changed the colour of the Roll Cage and Arms to Grey though, i'd prefer them in the Black..

Get some footage up..

I wish the cage and arms had been grey on my KM their freakin orange, hate that

also from what I've found once you burn up the stock spur you will need to buy the spur and slipper/damper to get the HPI stuff to work (the KM damper won't go all the way into the HPI spur)

I do like the grey...

This has the two speed kit installed, all the gears are metal, super beefy, i don't see them burning up anytime soon.

There isnt a plastic gear anywhere in the drivetrain, Im happy about that..

Jacko- will work on some vids when the weather takes a turn for the better, right now its just gonna be on the stand getting worked on till some of this snow decides to leave.

Would of lost it today if I didnt have the killer bee installed. Throttle is binding up somehow and she decided to make a run for it.

Make sure the plastic finger piece is not snagging on the filter. It has been known to snag the filter and keep it throttled up.

This piece:

Thanks BTB, i actually had a compound issue i guess. It was that finger you pointed out, And the plastic shroud on the motor was hitting the slide on the other side of the carb, i didnt pop it fully back into place when i installed the killerbee:o

you aint kiddin.

Got it out on the road today away from all the snow for a bit, the tires hate the still wet pavement, but i did do some "speed" runs, and holy cow... when this thing grabs second it is just GONE.

Besides that i don't really have much area to drive it with all this snow still here. I did manage to find a nice packy bank (about 10' high) and once i got some treads packed into it I could do some nice climbs and even jumped right over it.

haha yeah, only part that sucked was walking over and getting it out from its landing spot of 3' of snow!!

Looks great, can you do a tell us how it fairs up with wear and tear. Also (while the snow is still there;)) can you measure the thickness of the body as these are half the price of a HPI one over here in the UK.
Good luck with the truck it looks tough.

Last tank of the day I put it through some abuse, flying around, hitting anything that looked like i could get some air off it.

The more i fine tune this thing it is getting nutty, when it finally grabs second you better have some room let me tell ya.

no real crashes besides a sideways launch that led to a long fit of barrel rolls. no damage to speak of.

The body definately seems like it will hold up, i haven't used my calipers in a long time, once i dig them out i will see how thick it is for you. it is definatly LOADS thicker then my Losi LST XXL body, thats the only thing i have to compare it to at this point. it suffered some serious barrel rolls on pavement and didnt leave a mark.

this thing is a BLAST

heres a quick shot.

First box of goodies made its way here.

New hitec servos, killer kables, rear turnbuckles and cuffs. rebuilt the shocks with quality oil and o-rings, few other little things for looks, and a voltwatch.

I've allready got the killerbee and a 5000 mah rx pack installed.

Had my first casualty today as well, got some real good air and landed only on the right front wheel, which led to a roll. which led to a broken front shock tower. Luckily KM includes an extra one so its not a huge deal.

sounds like ya had fun tho. i upgraded alot of things on mine, and yah that 2nd gear kick in is like hittin nitro, it just shoots off. lol im getting mine set back to where i want, i had loosened it up back upon teardown for upgrades before i found out i didnt have to do that, soooo, i have to readjust kick in point.,

i put a angled neck shorty uni filter with Vstack on mine, if you haven't got a aftermarket filter, do so, especially a Vstack, mine just roars with power now, i know its got more get up than without, a definate difference i can tell and see.

i was looking at air filters, wasnt sure what one to jump on, do you have a link to what you have?

from Tulare, comes with Vstack, shorty uni filter and a redneck, you might ask bout the larger bore Vstack tho, the one that come with mine the hole wasnt large enough for choke to work right, i had to ream it out a bit, almost got it large enough, but still cant fully close choke to start, i told him of this, and he's sending me free of charge a larger bore Vstack. so ask about it before you buy setup, he prolly will switch the one it comes with with one of the larger bore ones.

and you can if u want mention that Lan-Ed-Tul sent you there, he's a great dude to deal with and has helped me tons on things, very helpful guy.

hi everone im looking at geting a t1000 just want to see what everones input good or bad about the truck thanks
