i am soon going to be purchasing a KM vehicle, problem is, I cant decide between the T1000 and the "5b" . I personally like the LOOKS of the t1000 more, but im curious if anyone can provide any input on how each of them perform, etc.

will be driven in just about constant off-road terrain... nothing a two wheel peel cant handle.. but i also rarely touch asphalt.

also, i see alot of them now come with the two speed,,, from my experience with two speed setups on nitro, i feel like i should stay away from this setup untill it is refined more. It seems like one of those things that is just waiting to explode and get replaced.

thanks for any input

Get both!

I have the -001 baja, but I also like the T1000. I doubt the girlfriend will let me get the 5T/T1000.

If you are considering anything crazy like the 50.8cc twin engines that are coming out, you will need the truck, or at least be ready to convert to a truck. They say you need the Team Chase roll cage to be able to protect the engine, and it fits the truck version of the baja.

you can always convert the baja to the truck, its between 200 and 250 to convert it

the truck bodies are very, very pricey so you might take that into consideration (around $200 us)

I would get the T as its already been said its easier to change to a B if your not happy, if your not happy with the T then all you'll need to do is take of the sides and front kick up and put a B shell on, B shells are around the £30 mark compared to the T which can go for £140+.
You can then sell the T conversion and get some funds back.

As for the 2 speed, you'll prob not need it if your running off road, plus if you jump and stay on the throttle it'll have a tendency to shift up, so when you land it won't have that instant power as the gearing will be to low.

Just my 2 cents worth.

thanks for the input guys.

voodoo - I am in NY

I think i am going to go with the buggy. after really considering it, it just seems like more sensible option for me.. im somewhat of a harsh driver, and the price tag of the 5t body is really whats killing it for me. from reading i know the factory one from king motor is garbage, so that would be toast after break in. ..

Also the more i look at it, I like how you can see more of the mechanicals on the buggy.. like the motor, suspension, etc..

I just hope i don't regret it... even at the king motor prices, thats still alot of money to drop..

Jared like the others said you could get the t1000 then just remove the truck bits and make it a buggy and save the truck bits for when you want to use it like a truck, also the buggy body is pretty garabage too, order a proline desert rat body from your LHS

You could always sell the T shell and body mounts to someone who wants to convert to a T, these sell for stupid money so you could end up paying less for a B once you sell the T stuff...IMO

went against what i said and ordered the T1000..

....now to order some goodies for when it arrives.
