Getting a 40. Questions.
I have taylor transmission, blackbone gears, irc diff, titanium layshaft. Which dogbones and outdrives should I go for?
Also thinking about extended arms.
Bad idea or should i go with axel extenders in the rear?

Grab the flm extended arm set or a set of red arrow arms from Detroit or taylor if you don't mind something a little chunkier, but a little more pricey

which carb is best suited to the 40? Also 54mm clutch or 62?

My 2012 hpi 5t. I have 3 bodies. Stock hpi white body, my General Lee custom body I did, and a hpi clear body that Im not sure what to do.

I'd definitely get the 62mm clutch, and I prefer the wj71 but either is OK.

Yep, you'll be fine. Hell I ran a 40gt with the plastic trans case with the hpi diff for about 6 tanks before the case finally gave out. Hpi diff will hold alot of power

Edit: I guess these are the newer version I got? They don’t look like the ones from Detroit performance.
They do have 1/4” dogbone pins and 12mm thick bones. 5mm drive pins.

Mine are silver these are the extended version but the regular set I have is the same Colour.

They do have 1/4” dogbone pins and 12mm thick bones. 5mm drive pins.

The open cups are the v1. I'd personally send them back for the newest versions with silver dogbones.

New versions, the cups are solid so the pins are 100% contained. The silver dogbones also correct the binding issues the v2 versions had with the contained cups.
