Okay, I said I was gonna rip it apart and inspect the "tempered" cups. But I just can't tear apart one of my RC's without beating it first soooooo.... Half a tank in the middle of a hillclimb, *POOF* no power to ANY wheels. Thought I blew a drive shaft. Well after ripping off the front and rear diffs the cups are, and I am happy to say it, in PERFECT condition. My power loss was the 2 set screws for the "D" gear that mount it to the shaft. They loosened up and the "D" gear was just turning on the shaft. A little red loctite and back on the track. Couple of nice 6 foot high jumps and no failures of any kind. Finally, a fix to the problem. Curious to see if the heat treated ones will work Rob, I am sure they will! :D

I'm back in the game so will be tearing it up tomorrow to test some more at my end but I'm confident...it looks like the last rampage weakness could well be solved by a fluke.

I just love the constructive feedback we get on this forum that has helped sort the rampage out, .......everyone...group hug... :D

Moo, I couldn't agree more. Thanks to Rob, Sprint and Moo and all the rest of you for ideas to fix these little problems! Now I have to decide which engine I am going to slap in my Baja as I just lost the top end to it yesterday. Thinking of this one http://www.oneillbrothersracing.com/rccar/itemdescription/chromest29rc.htm
