I told this to another redcat member- now you guys get to laugh! I fired up the Craftsman- sears 4 stroke weed wacker today- warmed it up, started cutting the @#%% Buffalo grass in the corner of the back yard @ WOT -- and the two narrow steel - no fiber clutch shoes and both springs blew out of the clutch bell. Got some light cuts on the right forearm, missed the veins. I will live. no stiches required. Never cussed either, no one wants to hear it. Just retired Mr. Weedwacker to the shed- then mowed the front lawn. When you least expect- expect the unexpected!! Never a dull moment in Pilot Rock Oregon!!

I work for sears as a auto tech and no longer buy crapsman and that's why. The tools are not what they used to be, had many bloody knuckles from there tools. Now its snap on, mac, matco or cornwell tools.

Yea i agree about the tools--

Start reefing on craftsman tools ya better wear gloves! - I had the head of one of there rachets let go- was holding on to the head to keep it square on the socket- ouch.- The real old stuff was decent- but the new open-box end? too brittle and soft at the same time- chrome chips will kill a engine before the pump primes up. Years ago, I bought a set of open-box end wrenches- said made in Brazil.- They out lasted Craftsmen by a country mile- never snapped- or chipped chrome either Darn shame about the weedeater- the power head runs fine- The 4 stroke might be kinda cool for a car though- heavy and gutless- but its an idea!

Have a craftsman flexhead ratchet and has been warrantied about 6 times now and have had it for 3 yrs. On the other hand I have a snapon flex ratchet for the same amount of time and haven't warrantied it yet. The quality is deff not the same as when my father had his and don't get me started on the hammers lol. What I will say is there ok for home use not for everyday mechanical

craftsmen is made in china now.friggin china.how can it be american?I also buy snap-on.u could be in the middle of no where and theres a snap-on truck.buy american if u can.support usa...

china?

china can build good redcats and other cars too. i would rather spin American tools though. tools that are harder than the bolt heads!! lol!

rachet

when the rachet failed, it was not the teeth, the head split open- after i quit bleeding, i wrapped the thing in bloody paper towels and gave the junker a proper burial- the garbage can. lol. at least the 1/2 drive 9/16 did not split open-
