With this question you will get a million and one answers (i bet someone says 50:1). I rarely have much left over after a weekend racing but after the season I may go and race in europe at an indoor meeting in november and I'll have maybe half a can of fuel mixed left over, it wouldn't worry me using this at the first meeting on the practice day which would be in March.

I know this doesn't answer your question but have a read of the other replies and make your mind up from that.

I have used mixed fuel that was a few months old before now and it was fine. Just give it a good shake before using it.
 
Depends on how its stored, fuel can last up to 1 year or more if stored correctly, you can tell when its gone bad, it will lose its smell

I wont you fuel in my baja if more than a month old

over here in usa, we are using fuel laced with ethanol for political reasons. i have read many opinions about "shelf life" of this fuel, as relates to the addition of ethanol. seems there is an :cool:opinion that ethanol shortens the shelf life. most are in agreement it should be used within 30 days of purchase. however, when does the use within clock actually start? immediately after refining and put in storage tanks? how long is it in these tanks before it goes to the local pump? is there any difference between brands quality? i have also heard that it is all the same, with different brands adding their own additives. does the addition of 2 cycle oil change the shelf lifespan? bottom line for me is don't buy too much so you have a quantity sitting around for an extended period of time.

I've read something like this before. my understanding is that while neat petrol doesn't have an indefinite shelf life, it is shortened by adding 2 stroke oil. This may be a load of old bollocks but as I've said, I don't have fuel lying around that long anyway - it's either burnt in the car or used to set fire to rubbish in my garden - using it for this does shorten it's shelf life lol
 
I too use a plastic funnel cheap and cheerfull and it does the job.

I also have one of these its seems to keep fuel better stored than the plastic ones plus it looks better lol

I use one of these bottles.
I'm an 'occasional basher' and will rarely fire up for more than perhaps 20-30 minutes at a time.
I agree that the markings may not be particularly accurate, but they're probably not far out.
I've left mixed fuel in one of these over 4-5 months without any bulging or deformation of any kind.
For the 'occasional basher' I find it pretty much ideal.

With a little care, it's quite easy to pour without major spillage.
If this does happen, I strongly recommend leaving in a well ventilated area without naked flames / lit cigarettes and permit to dry - doesn't take long!!

i find when the fuel is more than a month old it starts to get "stale". i find the motor will be harder to start and be a bit finickey to tune once the fuel is past a month old. i try to buy just what i need for the day when i head out.

The"FUEL" you mention above is oil+gasoline OR just the gasoline only?:)
