Just got this tonight. 4wd Baja kit. 5755 steering servo, front brake kit and fg tuned pipe. I'll be putting dual 5745's in for throttle brake dutes next. Here's a
pic beside the TB2. Pretty close in size, TB2 is a bit longer and wider, but the Baja sits much lower at the roof. Even the tires are close in hieght so another viable option for the TB2 guys.

great stuff pipe, cant wait to see what you think of it! Looks in excellent condition, i like the decal set!

do you know what brake kit its running? Im planning to install one next month on my fg

it's never been run so not a scratch. it has a cable brake setup but the discs aren't standard from any of the sets I ever owned. I have a jet pro pipe coming for it too

It's all stock aside from the front disc brake kit. 26cc zenoah. It had the long front wheels quares but I went one size down to get more thread sticking out of the wheel nut. Just got my silenced Jet Pro today and had to put it on... I love bling. I had to oval the mounting hole at the side plate and just ran the brake wire behind the mounting bracket. The pipe is hitting the left side upper body mount so I'll probably be removing that one and cutting a little more body. Then I'll clean it up with a sanding drum on the dremmel

oh ya, I haven't even started it yet. still need a kill switch too. we'll have another 2 weeks of steady rain too so no fun for me. it's rebuilding time. all 3 off roads are ready to rumble, now I start stripping the on roads down. it's hard spending money on my toys this time of year without taking heat hehe. the pipe was sent, I still have to pay for it

just waiting for the word that moo's track is open some weekend and not a water course, then I can hop on a ferry and go play. we have no tracks around here so it's a planned trip and a weekend away to go play

right now it's the only clean rc I have LOL. well the semi is getting clean cuz it's in pieces on the table for winter rebuild time. only about 3 pcs of plastic on that one. I keep offroaders plastic. flex is good. I play with them, I just prefer on road. it has to be on a track for me. I ran the cen today but I rarely go bash. so offroad is a trip to the island for me. that's when the fg gets it's first run... and I still need a kill switch.

I've bought a fair amount of music gear in the last couple months. been enjoying jamming. on road season is done for the year, so need some inside (out of the rain) hobby. music. and now the new indoor electric off road track.

I'll probably build the mercedes medium wb chassis up before I bling out the fg any. it needs a spur carrier and kill switch right away. and a couple dif cases. no sense busting up good parts until I have the needed upgrades or I'll have to buy more parts... got 2 other off roads to play with until then.

nope, I put the pipe in, changed it over to lipo with a bec and it sits on the shelf... good news is I am getting the fg vw back. ordering a 4wd conversion kit for it (killer sale at fg supply, can't resist). it's going to be my 4wd on road to race against the redcat rally cars here. that way they share parts...

weather has been rain rain here. I took the cen out one day after rain and did some laps in muck grass here in the co op, entertaining the kids. mostly been doing the music thing. picked up a lot of music gear, jamming and about to start recording some of my original stuff. got some cool toys. been out of the music game other than just playing my acoustic guitar in here, for many years. the cool toys now are so cheap man. talking to the manager at my local shop, I am buying and ordering all these new toys. he says something about jumping back in hard... I said dude, I collect 5th scale rc cars. I paid more for a set of tires for my semi than this mixing board cost. one rc probably would pay for all these toys. this hobby is cheap compared to the other one. I have to take a couple3 over for him to see. people think radio shack when you say rc car.

I want to wait to try the baja on a track. it's ready to go. I stripped the semi down, put a new rung in the motor (solo is sure different from cy or zenoah... 4 bolts in bottom of case go up to bolt the head on). I need some outdrives for the semi to finish it. going to use that servo tray as a template to cut one for the baja out of carbon.

I allready know I like it. it's lighter than my others (hence it being on the top shelf bracket) no center dif I have to try and lock up, belt is so quiet, love the tire pattern. I have always liked fg. I have a lot of experience with them too and many parts. Changing things is easy. I want to order some bling too before I break something. spur carrier for sure.

work has slowed down right now so I have to be smart with my money until the weather improves. just trying to bide my time. it'll be like 2 months before I get to the island again I think. oh ya, I still need a kill switch. I am just waiting for western robotics to call. I am testing their new line out, they make the hercules bec. I test many products for them and provide input on improvements. this kill switch is going to have some added features nobody else has and will work with any radio type (he's testing with all the radios right now. I get to see how it fares in action)

it's fun, I helped make a few products. Jimmy, the owner, is miles over my head. We talk and sometimes I feel he is speaking another language, but I can say what about making it do this instead, and he will call me around midnight and tell me it does now. lol. the remote glow igniter I worked on, bec, race controller things for real race and flight sims, and a few others. He wants me to come work for him setting up the pick and place machine and setting up the cnc machines... I might go do that to fill up my winter. I'd get free lessons in running a cnc anyway (he makes the boards and such for Sherline cnc mills and lathes)

good stuff, I love how easy the FG's are to work on, I still think they need to do something better about the layshaft gear and diff ring gear to protect it more but other than that its very solid and well designed.

as you know im a big fan of the belt system, quiet, smooth, no centre diff and above all very reliable.

check out the vw pics and the little brace I made from rear bulkhead to the motor. it's so simple. I can actually remove the motor mount screws and there is still connection. saves gears bigtime.

well looks like between christmas and new years we are going to moo's track for a winter bash. I am going to take the baja out before we go and do a track day in a lot with some road tires on to break it in a bit and see how it handles.

the band looks like it's going to be disbanded now too so I have more spare time. I'm auditioning for a recording project shortly as lead vocals... see how it goes.

bit different on the 4WD models because of all the plastic hosings, its pretty robust, better than the 2WD models, much better. 59 tanks in total ive done and the layshaft gear and diff ring gear are still the originals on my baja so I shouldnt complain, i just remember how much trouble I had with my FG MT and these two gears, replaced them close to ten times and less running time that my current baja!

I found there is a front one way for the 4wd's. I think I have to get one to try out. initial turn in on corners of a 2wd with 4wd pulling capability coming out.

that's the ticket. with a front brake kit installed it will be awesome. one ways were a love hate thing for me. I loved having the free wheeling and locked dif under power, but hated losing front brakes. with the fg setup and front brakes it's the best of both worlds. I just wish I wasn't so friggin broke right now or I'd have allready ordered one. man I hate winter...
