Funny thing is they picked the name is because they said chimera is a synonym for mirage.Not really. Chimeras are just plain creepy. Google image human chimera and you'll see what I'm talk'n about. LOL

get used to seeing buggies with cages and bodies that bolt to them. Scale is big and it is rolling into the market as ready to run. It will improve as people ask for more. I'm still waiting for a Traxxas Revo shock layout that is 1/5 scale and has the roll cage and a body that mounts to it. I have seen it in 10th scale.

Redcat announced on another forum that it's going to be called the Chimera SR. I'm not a fan of the name.

Why didn't they just call it the Rampage SR (Sand Rail) or Rampage DB (Desert Buggy)...more in line with the rest of the Rampage names.

Either way, I've got some cash ready : )

It looks like it has no ground clearance at all? One nice thing about the MT is it pretty much goes over everything. I only have sand pits to run in and they are exactly smooth like track lay outs

Most people are going to change out to Proline Trenchers or something else that has a larger diameter anyway.

Rob, Has anyone confirmed on the hubs of that thing? If that's production pics, then that is the second time I have seen what appears to be 24mm type hubs.

i like the tires. the flag on the sandrail on the previous page looks like it was photoshopped onto the buggy. or maybe it does have a white stripe on it???

I bet it has the square hubs like the sct. Doubt they redesigned a new wheel to look like the sct and used the same tire..its obviously a x series so I bet it still uses the square.
